Red Hot Summer

Dominating the canvas are shades of deep red, bright ochre and orange, striking black and bright white which have been applied with expressive, gestural brushstrokes. The paint is layered thickly in some areas, creating a sense of depth and story. The overall composition is both bold and emotive, inviting the viewer to explore the complexity within the abstract forms. Inspired by the heat of summer and the fires that prevail in Alberta and British Columbia during our short season of summer.
